About Us
Rutgers MFAS was established in 2024 as the joint project of the Center for Islamic Life at Rutgers University (CILRU) and Center for Security, Race, and Rights (CSRR).
Mission Statement
Rutgers MFAS was created to connect Muslim faculty, administrators, and staff throughout Rutgers University in the fight against Islamophobia and xenophobia. MFAS is committed to the notion that universities must be inclusive in order to thrive. We believe diversity both enriches our community and enhances our education.
MFAS seeks to foster a safe and supportive learning environment and workplace where Muslim community members are treated fairly and with respect. Toward that end, we have created a network for Rutgers’ Muslim employees and students to exchange resources and build community.
MFAS supports pluralism, religious and academic freedom, and racial equity.
